PRAYER TO PROTECT AGAINST ABUSE OF THE SACRED SPECIES

The following simple prayer unites the pure intention of the Celebrant Priest — to do what Christ did at the Last Supper — with the seal of his goodwill to protect the Blessed Sacrament from abuse. If the Priest lacks pure intent or goodwill he does not act in the Person of Christ and the Sacrament is invalid and thus protected from abuse.

Please place the following prayer at the point in the Eucharistic Prayer where the Holy Spirit is invoked, as the Priest holds his hands outstretched over the bread and wine.

This prayer said by the Priest may be said interiorly or out loud:

I UNITE MY PURE INTENT IN THE PERSON OF CHRIST WITH THE GOOD WILL NECESSARY TO BRING CHRIST ONTO THE ALTAR AND EXTEND THIS PRAYER TO INCLUDE ALL THE MASSES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.

The Moderator has approved this prayer.

As Major Superior for the Order of Saint Charbel, I wish to invite all Catholic Priests to unite in this spiritual solidarity through their daily Masses with this simple prayer. May Jesus Bless + you and Our Lady love you tenderly. Amen.
