Restored Sion: 3rd Covenant

Just before the end of His public ministry, the Apostles asked Jesus: ‘will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel? (Acts 1: 6). Jesus answered: ‘it is not for you to know the times and moments which the Father has put in His own power’ (Acts 1:7). Since that time, the job of Christ’s Apostolic Church, has been to witness ‘unto Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8).

Now the time has come for those who have received the Apostolic faith to be tested. To pass this test, we must obey the Word of God, particularly counsels from Jesus, in His 1st coming, and in the Book of Truth. Here are some examples.

• I have already come to Earth in the flesh and this cannot happen a second time. When I come again it will be through the way in which I left (MDM, Vol 3, pg 205).

• Be alert. I will continue to warn you about the antichrist and the lies he will present to the world (MDM, Vol 3, pg 205).

• My warning to you now is to listen to the prophecies. Any man who claims to be of Me or any man who tells you Jesus walks the Earth in human flesh, is a liar (MDM, Vol 3, pg 355).

• When you are forced to suffer and accept the mark of the beast, or die, you will scream out for Me…Only those who accept the Seal, keep it in their homes, or carry it on them will be protected. Only those with the Seal of the Living God will escape this form of genocide of the soul (MDM, Vol 3, pg 205).

• (These words are from the Mother of God). God’s children were given the Truth when My Son walked the Earth. Now, you will be given the full Truth, including revelations as to the work of God’s enemies, for your own good, lest you be deceived (MDM, Vol 3, pg 387).

Matthew 24 illustrates the love that Jesus has for Christians and members of His Church, who must recognize the signs of His Coming in order to prepare for it. In connection with the Messianic concerns of His apostles, He made it clear that the Jewish people, the generation of Abraham, must also recognize the signs and prepare for His 2nd Coming.

So you also, when you shall see all these things, know ye that it is nigh, even at the doors. Amen I say to you that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. Heaven and earth shall pass, but my words shall not pass (Matt. 24: 33-35).

In the Book of Truth, Jesus has informed us that the prophetic information in Daniel and the Book of Revelation only gives partial knowledge about the final tribulations, the reign of the antichrist and the Second Coming of Jesus. In this paper, with the more complete information about these events in the Book of Truth, we developed a more comprehensive narrative about the role of Jews and Christians in the Remnant Church and the transition to the Second Coming and establishment of the New Israel.

Jewish preparation for the 2nd Coming

Although the Jewish leaders, during His 1st coming, had Jesus, the Messiah, put to death, Jews have continued to look for the coming of the Moshiac (Messiah), not simply as a virtue, but a religious obligation. This is evident in their daily prayers.

Three times daily we recite the Amidah…nineteen benedictions in which we ask for all our needs…Six of these are devoted to …the ingathering of the exiles, the reinstallation of the High Court, Jerusalem and the Temple rebuilt, the arrival of Moshiac, and so on..

Three times a day we pray: “Speedily cause the scion of David your servant to flourish, and increase his power by Your salvation, for we hope for Your salvation every day” (Schoeman, p. 74).

In addition, Maimonides, in his codification of Jewish law, emphasized that all Jews are obligated to believe in the Messiah.

The Messiah will arise and restore the kingdom of David to its former might. He will rebuild the sanctuary and gather the dispersed of Israel…But whoever does not believe in him or await his coming denies not only the rest of the prophets, but also the Torah and our teacher Moses (Schoeman, p. 75).

Faithful Jews continue to believe and pray for the restoration of the kingdom of David, and the apostles of Jesus, faithful Jews, had this same expectation. However, when they asked Jesus when He would restore the kingdom, He emphasized that their mission was to found His Church. In God’s plan, mankind must first receive the Gospel and seek Christ’s forgiveness for sins because freedom from sin is the prerequisite for entering the new Paradise (see Genesis) and restoring the Kingdom. Thus, when Jesus addressed the generation of Abraham in Matt. 24, He expects them at His 2nd coming to ask Him to forgive their sins and receive the gifts for which they have devoutly prayed.

St Paul recognizes that Christ instituted the new and eternal covenant of salvation for Christians and Jews by shedding His blood on the Cross.

For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, (lest you should be wise in your own conceits), that blindness in part has happened in Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles should come (Romans 11: 25).

He then updates a prophecy from Isaiah about the covenant for the redemption of Sion. His update is italicized.

And there shall come a redeemer to Sion, and to them that return from iniquity in Jacob, saith the Lord. This is my covenant with them: I shall take away their sins (Douay Rheims, Isaiah 59:20-21; Romans 11:27).

St Paul’s amendment reflects his witness to the fruits of the new covenant whereby those who repent of their sins and ask Jesus for forgiveness are redeemed and receive the gift of His Holy Spirit. In these end times, it also establishes the pathway for Jews to fulfill their faith when Jesus, the Son of God, in His 2nd coming, will restore His Kingdom on the renewed earth.

As Christians awaken and prepare for the return of Jesus, Jews also are turning to Jesus as their Redeemer and Savior. Roy Schoeman (quoted earlier) represents a growing movement ‘of Jewish Christian communities in which Jews accept the principles of Christianity while maintaining their identity as Jews’ (Schoeman, p. 350).

The main associations of the movement are the Association of Hebrew Catholics (AHC) and Remnant of Israel. According to David Moss, the current president of the AHC, it was estimated to have around 10,000 members in 2000 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebrew_Catholics; Sept 2023)

Jewish communities within Protestant Christianity, who ‘see themselves as living within the Biblical prophecies about the Second Coming (Schoeman, p.352), are referred to as Messianic Jews. According to Roy Schoeman, only a few thousand Messianic Jews were found in the US before 1967. Since then, their population has rapidly increased.

As of 2012, population estimates of Messianic Jews were between 175,000 and 250,000 members in the United States, between 10,000 and 20,000 members in Israel, and an estimated total worldwide membership of 350,000 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messianic_Judaism; Sept 2023).

Prophecy about the role of Jews and Christians in restoring the Kingdom of Israel

The Book of Revelation (Ch 11) identifies two witnesses, who uphold the teaching of Christ before and during the reign of the antichrist. In two MDM messages ( Vol 2: pg 196-7 & Vol 3 Nov 30,2012 pg 152-3), Jesus completes and clarifies the prophetic and symbolic language about these events in Chapter 11 as well as the narrative in Chapter 12 about the woman clothed with the son who had to flee to the desert. The first of the two witnesses, Enoch, stands for Christians in Our Lord’s Remnant Church, and the second, Elijah, represents the Jews. With this more complete picture, we gain a better understanding of the missions of Christians and Jews in the time of Tribulation before the establishment of Christ’s Kingdom. Note that their missions and sufferings differ in the periods before and during the reign of the antichrist.

The mission of the two Witnesses prior to the reign of the antichrist.

Mission of Jews In this period of the Tribulation and during the reign of the antichrist, ‘the Gentiles shall tread under foot the holy city (Rev 11: 2-3)’. The commentary of Jesus about the Jews focuses on their mission in the state of Israel.

The Jews who rejected the Covenant of God, laid down by Moses, will suffer as they have done for centuries. Their power over the land of their forefathers will be taken and the only solution will be to sign a treaty where they will become slaves to the antichrist…The treatment of the Jews will be worse than that shown to them during the genocide, which took place in the Second World War… It will be in Israel that the Tribulation will be seen, as foretold, clearly (MDM vol 3, pg 152).

The treaty presented to Israel will not be a treaty with the antichrist himself, but, behind the scenes, he will ensure that Jews cannot interfere with his plans for Jerusalem. Once the treaty is signed, however, ‘the man of peace (the antichrist) will enter the world stage (MDM vol 3, pg 152).

The Covenant that Jesus refers to is found in the Book of Deuteronomy. In Ch 28, Moses contrasts the blessings that come to Israel ‘if thou wilt hear the voice of the Lord thy God…and keep all his commandments, which I command thee this day, the Lord thy God will make thee higher than all the nations that are on the earth (Deut. Ch.28: 1)’. Ch. 28 continues with a list of blessings related to prosperity, marriage, security, safe travel, and other facets of life. These are contrasted with the fruits of rejecting the voice (or the Word) of God: ‘if thou will not hear the voice of the Lord…and do all the commandments and ceremonies which I command thee this day, all these curses will come upon thee, and overtake thee (Deut. Ch.28: 15).’

Ch. 29 adds the following. “These are the words of the covenant which the Lord commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab: beside the covenant he made with them in Horeb (Deut Ch 29: 1)’. Horeb was the mountain where Moses received from God the stone tablets inscribed with the Ten Commandments. The Covenant made with Israel in Moab reiterates their commitment to God, prior to their entrance into the Promised Land.

Mission of Christians Prior to the reign of the antichrist, Christians will also be persecuted, and the European Union will be responsible for the worst persecution of the Remnant Church (MDM, V3: pg 152)

The beast with the ten horns, that is the European Union, will crush all traces of God… Now is the time to prepare for their cruelty, which will be unprecedented, when it will come to the abolition of Christianity…They will applaud the appointed leader of a new church and his power will spread all over the world.

This will develop quickly and to those servants of Mine, who do not accept the Truth of this prophecy, you must know this. Should you conform to the new laws of Rome, a city which will be seized by the liar and servant of the antichrist, you will become a prisoner of this new regime. When you see the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist being amended and changed beyond recognition, know that this will be your chance to turn your back on this wicked regime. (MCD, Vol 3 pp 152-3).

The context makes it clear that False Prophet is the ‘little horn’. See Daniel (Ch 7: 8),

The mission of the two Witnesses during the reign of antichrist.

In Ch. 12, the narrative focuses on the woman who gave birth to a male and who was cast out in the desert. Jesus provides this explanation about the meaning of Ch. 12 for His followers who may be confused about the False Prophet.

The woman gives birth to my True Church, My loyal flock, who will not be misled by the false prophet. You, My Church, will be cast aside into the desert for 1,260 days, where you will take refuge… It will be the loyal members of My Christian Churches, including my sacred servants, and those of my followers who reject the False Prophet, who will have to keep My Church together … (MDM Vol 2 pg 196)

It will be during this time that My army will continue, undaunted, in their mission to save souls. Nothing will stop them and for every hour of their prayers I will mitigate much of this suffering in the world.

To the Jews I say this. You have suffered because of your failure to the Word of God through the prophets. You, however, will finally accept the True Messiah soon. Then, you too will join My Army as it marches towards victory against the antichrist (MCD, Vol 3 pp 152-3).

They, the Jews, will know that I am the Messiah at last and their preaching of the Truth will also be cast aside and thrown out by the False Prophet and the antichrist to rot like a corpse. Again, this chosen race will not die (MDM Vol 2: pg 198).

These two sets of witnesses will prophecy and give testimony to the truth for 1260 days at which point they will seem to be overcome by the beast, i.e. the antichrist (Rev 11: 7).

And their bodies shall lie in the streets of the great city, which is called spiritually, Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord also was crucified (Rev 11: 8).

Their apparent death will be short-lived, but the followers of the antichrist will greet the news with great joy.

And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them…because these two prophets tormented them … And after three days and a half, the spirit of life from God entered into them…And they heard a great voice from heaven, saying to them: Come up hither. And they went up to heaven in a cloud: and their enemies saw them. (Rev 11:10-12).

Both sets of witnesses will have felt defeated, but this will only be temporary. A number of days after their translation to heaven, the reign of the antichrist will end when he and the False Prophet will be thrown into ‘the pool of fire, burning with brimstone (Rev 19: 20)’.

Rev. Ch. 11 also refers to two candlesticks and two olive trees and Jesus also presents information about these in the Book of Truth. Two candlesticks or lamps (Rev Ch. 11) Under this heading, Jesus identifies two groups who will remain faithful to the Messiah and merit entry into God’s Kingdom.

The two lamps are my Christian Churches, the traditional Church, and those followers of Mine who will be cast aside by the false prophet (MDM, vol 2. Pg 198).

Two olive trees(Rev. Ch. 11) Two olive trees, in the words of Jesus, ‘are the Old Jerusalem Israel and the New Israel (MDM Vol 2: p198)’. The Old Jerusalem Israel ended when the Jewish leaders and the priests who managed the Temple rites had Jesus, their Messiah, put to death. At this point, Jerusalem ceased to exist as a holy city as noted by St John (Apoc. Ch.11: 8).

Similarly, just as Adam and Eve had to leave the Garden of Eden, the scribes and Pharisees were dispossessed of their positions as guardians of the temple. Forty years after the death of Jesus, the Romans destroyed the Temple and all its records, including those related to the Levitical priesthood. This fulfilled the prophecy of Daniel: ‘there shall be in the temple the abomination of desolation: and the desolation shall continue to the consummation and to the end’ (Dn 9:27).

Both the Jews and the Remnant Church along with the other religions will form the New Israel, the One True Church (MDM vol 2: p 198) and, when the persecution ends, My Remnant Church and My chosen people will have the Temple rebuilt (MDM vol 2: p 294). In another MDM message, Jesus speaks directly to the Jewish people.

The House of David will have its day of victory on the day I will raise up the New Jerusalem out of the ashes.

My Promise to bring you to My Father’s Kingdom is close. To you I pledge My Love and My Loyalty, as your promised Messiah, promised to you so long ago. This is your inheritance. You did not reject Me, your Jesus, when I was crucified. You rejected God.

I Am God. I Am the way for you to enter the New Paradise. Accept My Hand for I love you. I forgive you. You are My People and I Am coming for you. Your Jesus.

What does the Catholic Church currently teach about the 2nd Coming of Jesus?

The restoration of the House of David and the Kingdom of Israel are promised in both the Old and New Testaments. In Daniel, God promised to give His faithful people the wisdom of the Book of Truth that they may uphold the Word of God at the time of the abomination unto desolation. The Book of Truth also provides a more comprehensive prophetic narrative of the Book of Revelation that is grounded in currently existing nations and political realities.

The Book of Revelation, just as the prophecies contained in the Book of Daniel, have been given to you only in parts. Many of you are confused. But this is because the contents revealed to both of these prophets were closed and hidden until the end of times.

Only I, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God has the Authority to reveal the contents to mankind.

How can you claim to know everything about My Second Coming when you know only parts? When they haven’t been revealed yet.

You must listen to My Holy Word for it is being given to you to save your souls (MDM Vol. 2, pp 155-6)

Note that the task of providing the missing elements of Sacred Scripture for these end times demonstrates that the Book of Truth is contained in Public Revelation.

You must never reject God’s attempts to bring you the Truth. He, My Eternal Father, loves everyone and this Mission was foretold. He brings the world the secrets contained in the prophecies given to Daniel and then to His chosen disciple John the Evangelist. The Book of Truth is contained in Public Revelation and it is important that you do not reject this Holy Book (MDM Vol.5, pg 218).

In contrast, the official teaching of the Catholic Church about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the re-establishment of His Kingdom almost entirely ignores the most basic elements of Old and New Testament prophecy. For example, in the Vatican II document Gaudiam et Spes: The Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World, the discussion of the End Times deliberately uses vague and ambiguous language.

We do not know the time for the consummation of the earth and of humanity. Nor do we know how all things will be transformed. As deformed by sin, the shape of this world will pass away. But we are taught that God is preparing a new dwelling place and a new earth where justice will abide, and whose blessedness will answer and surpass all the longings for peace which spring up in the human heart.

Then, with death overcome, the sons of God will be raised up with Christ. What was sown in weakness and corruption will be clothed with incorruptibility (Documents of Vatican II, p.237).

Jesus makes clear use of language that makes reference to the thief who take possession of the Church’s goods and to the Kingdom where those who remain faithful to the teaching of Jesus Christ during the reign of the antichrist, will live and reign with Him a thousand years (Rev Ch. 20: 4). The Church must be subservient to the Word of God (MDM Vol 5, pg 181).

In Revelation, the direct reference to the Book of Truth occurs in John’s conversation with the seventh angel (Rev. Ch 10).

But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound the trumpet, the mystery of God shall be finished, as he declared to his servants the prophets. And I heard a voice from heaven again speaking to me, and saying: Go, and take the book that is open from the hand of the angel who standeth upon the sea, and upon the earth.

And I went to the angel, saying unto him that he should give me the book. And he said to me: Take the book, and eat it up: and it shall make thy belly bitter, but in thy mouth it shall be sweet as honey. And I took the book from the hand of the angel and ate it up: and it was, in my mouth sweet as honey: and when I had eaten it, my belly was bitter (Rev Ch 10: 7-10).

In this scriptural reference to those who read Book of Truth, Jesus explains why they find its contents ‘bitter’

The content of this Book makes for difficult reading, because it foretells the final betrayal of Me, Jesus Christ, by those who claim to govern My Church. Let the truth be heard, for it is written and what is written by God is sacrosanct (MDM Vol 5, pg 224).

Recall Jesus’ reference to the Pharisees as the blind leading the blind (Matt. 15:13-14). This also applies to bishops and priests who close their eyes to the False Prophet sitting in the Chair of Peter.

This will be very difficult time for My Sacred Servants, for they must follow the Laws laid down by My Church. I say to you now that you must still do this. But, as soon as My Sacraments have been desecrated, only follow My True Church. By then only those servants who follow the Truth can lay claim to lead My people according to the instructions laid down by Me during My time on earth (MCD, Vol 3 pp 152-3).

Those who do not follow the Lord’s advice will grow in solidarity with persecutors of the True Church and march with the servants of the antichrist.
