Say: In honour of the Sacred Wound of Our Lord’s Precious Head that the Crown of Thorns pierced to take on all the sins and impure thoughts and temptations.

Say: In honour of the Sacred Wound of Our Lord’s Left Hand as It was pierced with the first nail and was also used to caress His Most Holy Mother’s Face and to wipe away and cherish Her Tears for Him and mankind.

Say: In honour of the Sacred Wound of Our Lord’s Right Hand as It bore the second nail and was also used to make the Sign of the Cross to venerate His Father, Holy Spirit and to Bless His sheep.

Say: In honour of the Sacred Wounds of Our Lord’s Side pierced by Saint Longinus, to show the Truth and Light of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Say: In honour of the Sacred Wound of Our Lord’s Shoulder as It took the full brunt of our sins on the Cross, as He endured the climb to Calvary, may we also take up our cross and follow Him.

Say: In honour of the Sacred Wounds of Our Lord’s Feet as They bore the third nail on the Cross, may we fall at them, as Our Lady and all the Saints after did. May we also take the Footsteps of Our Blessed Lord to Eternal Life.
